Dave Lent is an incumbent Republican State Senator for Idaho's District 33, seeking re-election in 2026. A native of Southeastern Idaho and a resident of Idaho Falls, he brings a wealth of experience from nearly four decades in the nuclear industry, retiring as a training manager at Idaho National Laboratory. Lent is a graduate of Eastern Idaho Technical College and Idaho State University. His public service includes 12 years on the Idaho Falls School District 91 Board of Trustees, where he championed significant school improvements. As Chairman of the Senate Education Committee, Senator Lent is dedicated to advancing K-12 education, advocating for customized approaches and workforce preparedness programs like Idaho Launch. He has also served on the Senate Agricultural Affairs, Judiciary and Rules, and Joint Finance Appropriations Committees. He and his wife, Terri, have five children and fourteen grandchildren.
