Dave Wood is a retired computer programmer and software engineer living in Westminster, Colorado, and the Libertarian Party nominee for Colorado's 8th Congressional District in 2026. Born in Rockford, Illinois in 1944, he moved to Boulder in 1953, graduated from Boulder High School in 1962, and attended the University of Colorado and Berklee College of Music. A longtime Libertarian — he attended the party's second national convention in 1975 and was an early subscriber to Reason magazine — he worked as a musician (playing saxophone in bands including The Five Satins), ran a TV repair shop, and spent 28 years at an internet marketing startup before retiring in 2018. He previously ran for mayor of Superior, Colorado, receiving about 40% of the vote.
