Prior to his appointment to the bench, he served as a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County. He is the son of former Los Angeles County Supervisor and City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky. His wife, Katy Yaroslavsky, was elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 2022.
