Derek Medved is a lifelong West Duluth resident, entrepreneur, and a former City Councilor. At age 19, he purchased and reopened a local convenience store, which has since grown into a chain of fifteen stores across the region. He previously served on the Duluth City Council before resigning to focus on his business. He currently serves as a commissioner on the Duluth Public Utilities Commission.
