DON COOVER FOR CONGRESS

Don Coover was born and raised in rural Southeast Kansas, the second oldest of seven children. His family ran a small dairy, alfalfa, and soybean farm; his father was a union truck driver and farmer and his mother a school teacher. A West Point graduate, he served in the U.S. Army for more than ten years as a military intelligence officer, infantry officer, and Army pilot in Korea, retiring as a Captain. He later earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University and re-entered the Army to provide veterinary services. He now runs a beef cattle genetics company, works a ranch operation of several hundred head of cattle, and operates a local veterinary practice. He lives on a ranch in Galesburg with his wife Traci.
