Donald 'Don' Brown began his career in law enforcement in 1988 with the Newton Police Department, where he served for 30 years and retired as the Chief of Police after a decade in that role. He was first elected Sheriff of Catawba County in 2018. Brown holds an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Catawba Valley Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Gardner Webb University. He is also a graduate of the 230th session of the FBI National Academy. He and his wife, Jenny, live in the Balls Creek Community and have two sons.
