Earl "Buddy" Hance is a Republican serving as an At-Large Representative on the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners in Maryland. First elected in 2018, he is in his second term and served as Board President from 2020 to 2025. A fourth-generation farmer, Hance operates a family corn and soybean farm in Port Republic. Prior to his county service, he was the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Agriculture from 2009 to 2015 and President of the Maryland Farm Bureau. A lifelong resident, Hance has volunteered with the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department since graduating from Calvert High School in 1973.
