Edith J. Patterson is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 28 in Charles County since her election in 2015. Her current term is set to end in January 2027. Patterson's public service career includes serving as a county commissioner for Charles County from 2002 to 2010 and as a member of the Charles County Board of Education from 1983 to 1995. Prior to her political career, she worked for 37 years at the College of Southern Maryland, where she was the director of the Educational Talent Search program. She earned a B.S. from Virginia Union University, an M.Ed. from Bowie State College, and an Ed.D. from George Washington University.
