Edmund Driggs

Edmund "Ed" Driggs is the incumbent City Council member for District 7, first elected in 2013. He served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, retiring from the reserves as a Captain. Driggs earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Princeton University and pursued graduate studies in mathematical economics at Oxford University. His professional background is in finance, where he worked for major institutions like Goldman Sachs, specializing in arranging financing and securities offerings for corporate clients. Since moving to Charlotte, he has been active in community service, serving on the boards of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, the Blumenthal Center for the Performing Arts, and Communities in Schools, among others.
