Elizabeth Leprestre Cornell Burrows is not currently running for office on Civoren.
Elizabeth Burrows is a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing the Windsor-1 district (West Windsor, Windsor, and Hartland) since January 2021. She lives in West Windsor, Vermont. As Elizabeth Cornell, she attended Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, where she wrote an ethnography of Seattle's homeless population, and later pursued graduate studies at the University of Chicago. She lived in Prague for several years, working for a human rights organization focused on the Romani population, and founded Pozor magazine, which covered five countries in central Europe. She held jobs in editorial capacities in New York City and Austin, Texas, and served as a hospice volunteer. She married Justin Burrows in 2008 in Brownsville, Vermont, and they have two sons. She has served on the Mount Ascutney School District board and chairs the House Discrimination Prevention Panel. In 2026 she sought one of three Windsor District State Senate seats.
