Elmer Roldan is the Executive Director of Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA). He immigrated to Los Angeles from Guatemala as a child and has a background in education and community organizing. Roldan earned an associate degree from El Camino Community College and a bachelor's degree in public administration from CSU Dominguez Hills. He previously served as Director of Civic Engagement for LAUSD and as Community Affairs Deputy for the LAUSD Board President. He is running for Los Angeles City Council District 9.
