Eric Ching is an American politician and entrepreneur who has been a member of the Walnut City Council in California since 2012. He served as Mayor of Walnut from 2016 to 2017 and again in 2021. Born in Taiwan, Ching immigrated to the United States in 1982. He earned a bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles, and has a professional background in the telecommunications sector, owning and operating a business for over 30 years. Ching has also been president of the Chinese American Association of Walnut and volunteers for local churches and nonprofits. He previously ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in California's 38th congressional district in 2022 and 2024.
