Ervin Stone Yen, born in Taipei, Taiwan, is an American physician and politician. He served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2015-2019, making history as the first physician in 40 years and the first Asian American in the state legislature. A University of Oklahoma alumnus, he supports medical exemptions for school vaccinations. Yen changed party affiliations multiple times, including a stint as an Independent for his 2022 gubernatorial run, where he cited GOP's stance on COVID-19 misinformation and election claims. He is now seeking the Democratic Party's nomination for the 2026 United States Senate election in Oklahoma, facing several primary opponents.
