Esmeralda Soria is an American politician and attorney serving in the California State Assembly for the 27th district since 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, Soria previously served on the Fresno City Council from 2015 to 2022, including a term as the first Latina Council President. The daughter of immigrant farmworkers, she was raised in the Central Valley and earned a law degree from UC Davis. Soria is currently running to represent District 14 in the California State Senate.
