Evan Smith

Evan Smith is a Democratic candidate running for the Maryland House of Delegates in Legislative District 28. With a professional background in chemical engineering and experience working for his hometown school district, Smith is focused on improving the quality of life for residents in Charles County. He is a third-generation Japanese American. His platform includes robust advocacy for education, expanded transit options, and increased immigrant protections. Smith is a vocal proponent for establishing a long-awaited rapid transit system to better serve southern Maryland. He also supports the abolition of ICE. Smith is running in the Democratic primary scheduled to take place on June 23, 2026.
