Faizah Malik is a civil rights and housing attorney serving as the Managing Attorney for Housing Justice at Public Counsel [1.10]. Born and raised in Southern California, she is the daughter of immigrants. Malik earned a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a law degree from the University of Michigan. She previously worked for the New York City Council and has focused her career on tenant protections, affordable housing, and economic justice. She is running for Los Angeles City Council District 11.
