Fannette Elliott is a 30-plus year resident of West Des Moines and a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in English. She has served on the district's Student Improvement Advisory Committee and co-founded the Families of Students of Color support group. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she was a mentor in the school-based Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
