Taylor Wettach

Taylor Wettach is a Democratic candidate for Iowa Auditor of State in the 2026 primary election. A seventh-generation Iowan from Muscatine, Wettach is an attorney specializing in trade and national security law, having earned a Bachelor's from Georgetown University and a JD from New York University. He withdrew from the U.S. House race for Iowa's 1st Congressional District to launch his campaign for State Auditor. Wettach's platform centers on strengthening independent oversight, protecting taxpayers from waste, fraud, and abuse, and ensuring government accountability. He emphasizes his commitment to being an independent watchdog, not a political lapdog, and seeks to unite voters across party lines who believe in an auditor who follows the money and speaks truth to power.
