Forid Uddin was elected to the Paterson City Council for an at-large seat in the May 2022 municipal election. He is an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher at John F. Kennedy High School and has been with the Paterson Public Schools since 2014. Uddin holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and a master's in Urban Education from New Jersey City University. He is also the founder of the Bangladeshi-American Sports League.
