Gabby Salinas, a three-time cancer survivor and research scientist, represents District 96 in the Tennessee House of Representatives as a Democrat. Born in Bolivia, she immigrated to Memphis, Tennessee, at age seven for cancer treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Despite facing personal tragedy with the loss of her father, Salinas was embraced by the Memphis community. She holds degrees from Christian Brothers University and the University of Kentucky, driven by her love for science. A devoted healthcare advocate, she previously ran for the Tennessee General Assembly twice before assuming office. She is currently seeking re-election for her District 96 seat in 2026. On May 12, 2026, she was removed from all House standing committees and subcommittees.
