Gary Simmons

Gary Simmons is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 12B in Anne Arundel County. He assumed office on January 11, 2023. Born in Savannah, Georgia, on July 25, 1971, Simmons' career reflects a strong commitment to public service. He is a graduate of Tuskegee University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and political science. Before his election to the House of Delegates, his professional background included serving as a manager for the U.S. Government Printing Office and as a staff assistant for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. He also brings the experience of a retired military law enforcement officer to his role. In the legislature, Delegate Simmons serves as a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
