George Conway is a lawyer and prominent anti-Trump activist who co-founded the Lincoln Project and the Society for the Rule of Law. Formerly a conservative Republican, Conway became an outspoken critic of Donald Trump and re-registered as a Democrat. A longtime resident of the New York area who recently relocated to Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, he is running for New York's 12th Congressional District in the 2026 Democratic primary to succeed retiring Representative Jerry Nadler.
