George Harris previously served on the Troutman Town Council, having been the top vote-getter in the 2019 election. He lost his re-election bid in 2023 by a single vote. He has a master's degree in business from the University of Charleston and worked at DuPont for 40 years, including in management roles. Harris also has 16 years of experience as an elected official in Chesapeake, West Virginia, primarily as the town treasurer. He first joined the Troutman Planning and Zoning board in 2015 and currently serves on the Design and Review Board.
