George Walish

George Walish is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Maryland's 1st Congressional District. A resident of Maryland's Eastern Shore for nearly 30 years, he has lived in Chestertown, St. Michaels, and Oxford, and currently resides in Earleville. His professional background includes experience as a construction worker, a junior high school social studies teacher, and a senior executive in the automobile industry. Walish is a graduate of Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University), where he earned a degree in Business. He previously served as an elected commissioner for the Town of St. Michaels. His campaign focuses on the environmental health of the Chesapeake Bay and supporting local farmers and watermen.
