Gerry LaFemina is a Democratic candidate for the Democratic Central Committee in Allegany County, Maryland. A professor of English at Frostburg State University and a mentor at Carlow University's M.F.A. program, he is an award-winning author of over twenty books of poetry, fiction, and criticism. LaFemina is active in his community, having served on the boards of the Allegany Arts Council and Frostburg First, and he is the current Board President of Savage Mountain Punk Arts. He is also the frontman for the punk band The Downstrokes. His long-standing commitment to the arts and local community underscores his dedication to public service in Western Maryland.
