Grace Rivera-Oven is the President of the Montgomery County Board of Education in Maryland, representing District 1 as a non-partisan member. Originally from Bolivia, she immigrated to Montgomery County as a child and later graduated from Gaithersburg High School and Hood College. Before her election to the board in November 2022, Rivera-Oven owned a public relations business. She is the founder and CEO of the Upcounty Hub, a nonprofit organization providing social services and addressing food insecurity in Germantown. A longtime community advocate, she has served on numerous local boards and committees. All three of her children graduated from Montgomery County schools.
