Gregory Alan Whitener

Gregory Whitener is a lifelong resident of Catawba County and a graduate of St. Stephens High School. He retired from Allied Industrial Supply of Hickory as Operations Manager after 28 years of service. In November 2025, he was appointed to the Catawba County Board of Education to fill the unexpired term of a previous member. He has a history of community service, including serving as the chair of the St. Stephens Fire Department and as a past president and coach at the St. Stephens Optimist Club. He has also worked at Christ Church, where he served as a coordinator for volunteers and led a school backpack program that provided over 2,000 filled backpacks.
