My name is Heather Humphrey, and I’m proud to officially announce my candidacy for re-election to the Hopewell Crest Board of Education this November 4th. ________________________________________ 💙 A LITTLE ABOUT ME: • 🎓 Hopewell Crest Alumna – Class of 1994 • 👩‍👦 Parent of a rising 3rd grader at Hopewell Crest • ✏️ Current BOE Member with 2½ years of service • ❤️ Lifelong member of the Hopewell community Hopewell Crest isn’t just our school—it’s my home. It’s where I grew up, and now it's where my son is growing and learning, too. ________________________________________ ✅ PROVEN EXPERIENCE ON THE BOARD: Over the last 2½ years, I’ve had the honor of serving on the Curriculum Committee, working alongside former Vice Principals John Ogbin and Brian Belsky. I've gained valuable insight into: • 📊 State testing • 📚 Academic performance • 🏫 Curriculum strategy After serving on the Board, I’ve come to understand the real work a school board does—shaping policy, guiding academic priorities, and supporting the entire school community. With this experience, I’m more prepared than ever to contribute meaningfully in my next term. ________________________________________ 🙋‍♀️ THE ONLY CANDIDATE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN SCHOOL LIFE: I don’t just sit on the board—I’m in the building, at the events, and behind the scenes helping wherever I can: • 🎁 Run the Holiday Shop, where students shop for gifts for loved ones • 🎄 Partnered with BOE President Mike DeRose to unite the BOE & PTA for a holiday celebration • 🧁 Volunteer for Fun Day, Ice Cream Social, Teacher Appreciation events, and more • 📝 PTA Treasurer at Hopewell Crest • 💡 Helping plan new events for the upcoming school year (pending approval!) • 🏊‍♂️ Treasurer of the Georgetown Swim Club, where my son is on the swim team ________________________________________ 💬 MY PROMISE TO YOU: I believe in being a hands-on leader—someone who shows up, listens, learns, and takes action.
