Helena Scott is the incumbent State Representative for Michigan's 8th House District, having previously represented the 7th District from 2021 to 2024. A lifelong Detroit resident, she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and political science from Marygrove College. Prior to entering the state legislature, Scott worked as a lead organizer for Southeast Michigan Jobs with Justice and served as an executive board member and training coordinator for the League of Women Voters of Detroit.
