Iris Veronica Jimenez is a chef, entrepreneur, and community leader running for the Democratic Central Committee to represent Legislative District 19 in Montgomery County, Maryland. Born in Washington, D.C., to Salvadoran immigrants, she is a first-generation Salvadoran-American who resides in Silver Spring with her husband and four children. Jimenez earned a bachelor's degree in communication from George Mason University and a degree in culinary arts from the Art Institute of Washington. She serves as the Culinary Director and managing partner of Centrado Group, overseeing local establishments like La Casita Pupusería. She is a 2020 James Beard Foundation Fellow.
