Although he initially filed his candidacy for the District 2 seat, he later transitioned his campaign to run for an at-large position. Felton also has direct experience in county governance, having served on the Frederick County Board of Appeals. He was subsequently reappointed to a second three-year term on the board, which is set to begin in mid-2025.
