Prior to taking office, Barton spent over 30 years in the energy industry, serving as the vice president of Jack Rich, Inc. A resident of East Brunswick Township, he is active in his community as a lay minister and mentor. Barton was recognized as the 2017 Citizen of the Year by the Orwigsburg Lions Club and 2021 Businessman of the Year by the local Chamber of Commerce.
