James Martin is a fourth-generation Floridian and a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. During his active duty service, he commanded cutters in Fort Pierce, combated drug and human trafficking, and served overseas. He also most recently worked as Chief of Staff for National Security Affairs and Executive Secretary in the Office of the Vice President across two administrations. He is running as a Democrat for the U.S. House to represent Florida's 21st Congressional District.
