James N. Bianco is an incumbent judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, a position he has held since his appointment in 2008. His current term is set to end on January 4, 2027. Before becoming a judge, he served as a Court Commissioner for the same court from 2005 to 2008. His legal career, spanning over 28 years, includes roles as a sole practitioner, a partner at Bahan & Bianco, a criminal prosecutor as a Deputy City Attorney for Santa Monica, and a civil litigator with the firm Weissburg & Aronson. For five years, Judge Bianco was the Site Judge of the Mental Health Courthouse. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 1987. He has also taught criminal procedure at the USC Gould School of Law and an externship seminar at UCLA Law School.
