James H. Pressly is a fourth-generation Statesville native and a local business owner. His father previously served on the City Council and as Mayor in the 1980s. He earned a degree in History from the University of South Carolina and holds master's degrees in business administration from Western Carolina University and real estate finance from UNC Charlotte. He is an Eagle Scout and volunteers with local charities including Purple Heart Homes and Habitat for Humanity.
