Jamila Jaye Woods is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 26 in Prince George's County since January 11, 2023. Born in Camden, New Jersey, on July 9, 1963, she has a background in social work and ministry. Woods earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master of Divinity from Howard University, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her career includes roles as an investigative social worker for Child Protective Services in Washington, D.C., and President/CEO of Gabriel's Lyric Therapeutic Services, LLC. An ordained elder in the AME Church, she has served as a pastor. In the legislature, she has been a member of the Health and Government Operations Committee and the Judiciary Committee.
