Jay Collins is a decorated U.S. Army Special Forces combat veteran who served as a Green Beret for over two decades. He was elected to the Florida State Senate in 2022, representing District 14 in the Tampa area. In August 2025, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Collins as the Lieutenant Governor of Florida. In January 2026, Collins officially launched his campaign for Governor of Florida in the 2026 election. He currently resides in Tampa, Florida, with his family.
