Jayne Williams is a retired hospice nurse of 34 years, a mother of five, and a community advocate. Originally from Paterson, New Jersey, she moved to Kannapolis, her mother's hometown. She was a candidate for City Council in 2023 and has filed to run again for one of the three council seats in 2025. She is the daughter of boxer and civil rights advocate Rubin "Hurricane" Carter.
