Jeffrey Cohen-Laurie was appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 2018 by Governor Jerry Brown. Prior to his appointment, he served as a deputy alternate public defender and senior attorney at the Los Angeles County Alternate Public Defender's Office from 2008 to 2018. He was also a deputy public defender from 2006 to 2008 and an associate at the Law Offices of R. Samuel Paz from 2005 to 2006. Cohen-Laurie earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University.
