Jeffrey Cruden

Jeffrey Cruden is the incumbent District Attorney for North Carolina's 1st Prosecutorial District. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served for seven years after high school. He later attended Campbell University School of Law. Before becoming the District Attorney for District 1, he served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Wake County. During his career as a prosecutor, which spanned over 28 years as of 2022, he has led a special victims unit and a drug task force in Wake County, and has tried numerous serious cases, including capital murder and drug trafficking.
