Jimmy Gomez has served as the U.S. Representative for California's 34th congressional district since 2017. Before being elected to Congress, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2017. Prior to his career in electoral politics, Gomez worked as a labor organizer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University. He is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Committee on Oversight and Reform.
