Joe Gamble, a Republican, has served as the Sheriff of Talbot County, Maryland, since December 2, 2014. His law enforcement career began with the Maryland State Police, where he worked as a trooper, criminal investigator, and undercover trooper for the drug task force before becoming a Regional Commander and Commander of the Homicide Unit. Gamble is a graduate of Towson State University and the National Sheriffs Institute. He is an active member of the community, having served as president of a high school sports club and as a youth lacrosse coach. He is also a member of the Maryland Sheriffs' Association and the First Wesleyan Church of Easton.
