Joe Toolan is a Democratic candidate for the Anne Arundel County Council, representing District 6 in Maryland. An alumnus of the University of Maryland, College Park, Toolan built a career in environmental and social advocacy. He is a Justice and Equity Fund Director for an environmental nonprofit and formerly worked for the Chesapeake Bay Trust. A community leader, he was the first chair of the Maryland Commission on LGBTQIA+ Affairs and served as chair of Annapolis Pride. Toolan's campaign priorities focus on environmental stewardship, affordable housing, smart growth, community policing, and improving public education.
