John Harabedian is the incumbent Assemblymember for California's 41st District, having assumed office in December 2024. He was born and raised in Sierra Madre, California. His career in public service began on the Sierra Madre City Council in 2012, where he was re-elected in 2016 and served two terms as mayor. Professionally, Harabedian has an extensive legal background, having worked as a prosecutor for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, an attorney at Latham & Watkins, and with Stanford's Immigrants' Rights Clinic. He also served as a policy analyst for former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Harabedian earned a bachelor's degree from Yale University, a master's degree in comparative social policy from Oxford University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford University. He currently lives in Pasadena with his wife and three children.
