John T. Willis is a seasoned figure in Maryland politics, having served as the state's Secretary of State from 1995 to 2003. An attorney by profession, he is a graduate of Bucknell University and Harvard Law School. His extensive public service includes roles on the Democratic National Committee, the Governor's Executive Council, and chairing various state-level commissions. Willis has also been a member of the Democratic State Central Committee for Carroll County. A U.S. Army veteran and a published author on Maryland politics, he has taught at McDaniel College and the University of Baltimore. He is currently a Democratic candidate for the Democratic Central Committee in Legislative District 43A.
