Joseph Lemons is a candidate for Stokes County Sheriff in Stokes County, North Carolina — 2026 Primary Election. Running as Republican.

Joseph 'Joey' Lemons is the incumbent Sheriff of Stokes County, sworn into office on March 1, 2021. He was born and raised in Stokes County and graduated from South Stokes High School. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he was involved in student government and the College Republicans. After college, he completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at Surry Community College. His career with the Stokes County Sheriff's Office includes roles as a patrol deputy, detective, narcotics officer, member of the Special Response Team, Lieutenant over the Criminal Investigations Division, and Chief Deputy before his appointment to Sheriff. Lemons is also a musician, known for being the lead singer and mandolin player for the bluegrass band Terry Baucom's Dukes of Drive. He is the former Vice Chairman of the Stokes County Republican Party.
