Kevin E. Jones

Kevin Jones is the incumbent judge for Seat 3 of the North Carolina 16th Judicial District, an office he assumed on January 1, 2023. His legal career began after graduating from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2003. He previously worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Durham County from 2003 to 2007. In 2007, he founded The Law Office of Kevin E. Jones, PLLC, where his practice focused on criminal law, family law, and civil litigation. Before his legal career, Jones was a 5th-grade teacher with the Teach for America program in Rocky Mount, NC, after earning a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University in 1997. He won his current judicial seat by unseating the incumbent in the 2022 election.
