Josh Mandelbaum is serving his second term as the Des Moines City Councilmember for Ward 3. He was born and raised in Des Moines, attended Des Moines Public Schools, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from Brown University in 2001 and a law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2009. His career includes working as a senior attorney for the Environmental Law and Policy Center, where he focuses on clean energy and water. He also served as a policy advisor to former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack and Lt. Governor Sally Pederson.
