Julian Parker is a retired judge who served on the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court bench for 18 years, from 1996 to 2014. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a prosecutor in the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office and the U.S. Attorney's Office. He came out of retirement to run for sheriff, citing concerns over the deteriorating conditions at the city's jail.
