Karen Bushell

Karen A. Bushell is the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland, a position she has held since April 1, 2021. Her career with the county's court system began in 2001, where she started as an Administrative Assistant in the District Court before moving to the Circuit Court. Demonstrating a long-term commitment to court administration, Bushell served as the Chief Deputy Clerk from 2014 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, her educational background includes a paralegal certificate from George Mason University, along with studies at Montgomery College and the Institute of Court Management Program. Bushell is also a member of the Maryland Circuit Court Clerks' Association.
